I've just installed Easy Chords and tried to use it for the first time.\302\240 Winamp happily plays a track (and Evil Lyrics displays the lyrics) but Easy Chords doesn't show any chords.\302\240 It shows the track title in the heading but in the main panel it says "Select a song in the playlist editor".\302\240 Where am I going wrong?[\/color]
I've just found out how to get it to work by using the playlist.  I've never used that before.  I've always played tracks directly.  However, for the tracks I've tried the chords displayed do show a substantial number of errors from the correct chords for the track.
Thanks Nately. May I ask which tracks you were playing?
I tried a few.\302\240 For example, The Beatles "All My Loving" is shown as
G# F# C# E C# A F# D B
F# B E C# A G# E
whereas this should be
F#m B7 E C#m A F#m D B7
F#m B7 E C#m A B7 E
The middle 8 is shown as
C# C# E
C# E E
whereas this should be
C#m A+ E
C#m A+ E
Another example is The Eagles "Peaceful Easy Feeling" which is shown as staying in E at the beginning for 14 bars before going to B (which should be B7).\302\240 It misses out the introduction, which is E to Esus4 four times over 8 bars and the first part of the song which goes from E to A for 6 bars before going to the B7.
Am I expecting too much?
Thanks nately. Let me try these two songs and get back to you.

We don't yet do non-basic chords though (like B7, Esus4 or A+), and we use the lower case letters for minor chords.

Nately,

Here's what I get with All My Loving: the algorithm stubmles in the first three seconds, but then shows the correct basic versions of the chords you listed (note that minors are in lowercase):

... E C#m A F#m D B7 F#m B7 E C#m A B7 E

Listening to the chords mixed in confirms that they are indeed correct (with the exception of two mistakes) and well-synchronized.
The middle 8 shows c# E c# E, and half of the second E is indeed a mistake. Keeping it c# would have been a better approximation of the correct A+ there, before it turns into the correct E.
Totally agree with your comment on Peaceful Easy Feeling. Although I must say that listening to it with the organ chords mixed in, I felt tempted, if only for a second, to reassess my own Easy Feeling toward The Eagles :)
I hadn't spotted the use of lower case.\302\240 That does make a big difference.\302\240 Interestingly, though, I do get some discrepancies from the chords you show, for example, the G#m (shown as g#).\302\240 You appear to have this correctly as B.\302\240 I tried to paste a screen print in here to show you but the system won't take it.
I must say I do find the lack of the non basic chords to be a limitation.
Maybe you have different recordings of the song.
(or Gene has a newer version of the algorithm?)

Anyway, most of the results of this piece of Software fills me with awe!!
This project is one of the things I'd really like to participate.

The lack of non basic chords - well of course thats a constriction - but at this stage of development it would make things much harder.

How do you filter the "noise" out of the chords? I think you don't use the whole spectrum of audible sound. I would very much appreciate discussing some of that kind of information, if thats not too confidential.

Nately, did you mean that this forum (SMF) won't take a screenshot? That's probably because the file is too big. If you save it as a JPG with lower quality, the file should be small enough to be accepted by SMF.

Royal, with your permission, let's move the discussion of how we recognize the chords to the DSP Talk board: http:\/\/cbmsnetworks.com\/smf\/index.php?board=3.0. I'll repost your question there.
This is the screenshot.
Yep, thanks nately! Looks to be the same as http:\/\/cbmsnetworks.com\/smf\/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=11.0;id=1
I can not get it to show any chords at all.  I have no idea what I am doing wrong.  It installed with no problems, and then brought up winamp, and then I chose a song from the play list and then on the easy chord screen I clicked down in the lower right hand corner where it says to , in order to "get chords"; but then absoutly *nothing* happens.  n e 1 have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?  Could it be because I have d\/l and installed the *newest* version of WinAmp (5.3), do I need to uninstall and then install an older version?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Sugien,

One possible reason is that you're trying to get the chords from a song in an unsupported format, and sometimes we don't show the message "unsupported format" in these cases. Could you please try on a non-DRM-protected .mp3 and let me know what happens?

What is the format of the song you're trying to process? Is it .wma by any chance?

I'm thinking if someone here heard about the zumba videos<\/a> . It seems it claims to be considered a safe replacement for conventional workout since it is fun and easy. I would be happy if anybody who used it could possibly please reply and provide a feedback as i'm really considering trying it out and want to get a basic idea from individuals who used it before I do. Appreciate it!
Super information it is surely. My girlfriend has been waiting for this content.

My computer has had a horrible virus for at least a week. Instead of taking it to a repair shop, my dad bought me mcafee. Today I installed it and it took about 6 hours. But now when I type in my password for my profile, it acts like it will log me in but then it goes back to the log in screen where the different profiles are listed. I have windows xp. What should I do I'm starting to lose hope.
Ok, Norton picked up a few viruses on my computer called JS.SecurityToolFraud and a few others which Norton didn't give names (They Were Trojans) too. Now Norton Says it got rid of these viruses and i need too take no action. Then i got a notice saying something along the lines of " A seciruty risk appeared, no futher action needed.
